Many people who have no experience with hypnosis are wondering how to hypnotize someone for beginners, I mean, it’s not easy knowing where to start if you’re new to hypnosis, especially if you have no prior knowledge or experience, even as a hypnotee or hypnotic subject.
Hypnotizing someone for the first time can be a little daunting (if not terrifying for some 🙂 ).
I know. I’ve been there, and I was asking myself the same question – where to start with learning hypnosis skills?
It’s not like there was a book called How To Hypnotize Someone For Beginners, you could just order on Amazon or anything.
You know, I think I must have seen Dr Bandler do the handshake interrupt on video a hundred times and still I couldn’t bring myself to try it. I wouldn’t dare ask a friend to “try something cool” with me, because what if something bad happened?!
So even though I theoretically knew what to do, and even saw a demo of it dozens of times – the air of mystery around hypnosis caught me by the throat, and I couldn’t do what I had the knowledge to do.
It wasn’t until I had the plane tickets the UK and had registered to go to a week-long seminar on hypnosis with Richard Bandler and John LaValle, that I actually tried to hypnotize someone for real (and it worked!) – but it wasn’t the handshake induction.
Imagine my surprise when on that workshop, Richard’s first exercise on the first day was the famous handshake interrupt induction…
– “Now go practice!” he said.
And we all did. And you know what? It was easy!
But I had to have that safety net of the conference room with trainers from around the world keeping me and everyone else safe, in order to actually do it.
So where do beginners go to learn to hypnotize someone?
The not so popular answer is: it depends.
I’m sorry, but that’s the truth of the matter.
Because the way to begin has to suit you and your personal taste and character.
Let me tell you why.
Hypnosis, for most people, is not an everyday thing. This means that you should really study it in a way that will allow you to continuously practice and hone the skills through gradually learning more ways to do it and to handle real life challenges, as well as grow your confidence in your ability to go ahead and hypnotize someone even though you are just a beginner.
For some it will be through a book, that will take you through in a step by step manner,
For others – an online course is the best way, because they like the interaction but also they enjoy the comfort of their own home,
And for others still, there is nothing that compare to a live seminar, with one on one interaction with a hypnosis trainer, with experienced assistants and with the experience of hypnotizing someone else plus being hypnotized, over and over, to get the skills into the body itself.
What are you like?
Are you a bookworm? Do you like reading through books cover to cover?
If so, then getting a good book such as Freddy Jacquin’s Hypnotherapy can take you through the journey and you can learn what you need even if you are just starting.
Are you the kind of person who likes to practice and learn from the comfort of your own home and computer (or better yet, from your phone or tablet)?
If that is the case, then getting David Snyder’s Killer Influence could get you exactly what you want – meaning from 0 to 100 in no time – hypnotically speaking.
David Snyder is also one of the trainers that hold live events, even during COVID19 (keeping with regulations and laws of course), so if you can and would like to have the ultimate experience of a live workshop,
you should definitely take a look at Dr Dave’s Real World Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy live event – it’s coming up in Washington DC this November, so best hurry up if you want to attend.
